With guaranteed snow and over 220 kilometres of piste between 1,000 and 3,000 metres of altitude, the winter sports region offers skiers and snowboarders a real snow sports paradise of above-average length and with stunningly beautiful pistes of all levels of difficulty!

The “Gstaad Mountain Rides” ski area covers 10 summits and is the only glacial ski area in the Bernese Oberland. It is among the largest and most diverse winter sports areas in Switzerland and combines numerous, well-known partial ski areas, such as Schönried, Saanenmöser, Zweisimmen and St. Stephan into one magnificent ski arena. From beginners to professionals, everyone will get their money’s worth.

Gstaad and Saanenland in summer

Saanenland offers mountains sports fans, families and those looking for relaxation lots of ways to spend their free time. With hiking, climbing, biking, paragliding or golf, Saanenland has the perfect sport for everyone.

The expanse of Saanenland, a network of routes of over 300km, hiking trails and various mountain railways make this region especially popular with hikers. The terrain is perfect for beginners and experienced hikers, who will be rewarded with breath-taking mountain panoramas!

The Saane is also great for white-water and canoe sports.

The summer toboggan run in Schönried is a popular destination for families.

Insider tips:

The top station of Rinderberg is accessible from Zweisimmen by gondola. When you reach it, you will be rewarded with a breath-taking panorama with a view of Wildstrubel, Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau and Simmental.

The over 180 year old Berghaus Horneggli is also worth a visit in winter. It offers an authentic, rustic, mountain hut atmosphere, a large sun terrace and a fantastic view of Saanenland.

Horneggli can be reached via the Horneggli chairlift from the valley station in Schönried.
